On Dec 29,2008 a charge of $34.34 was made to my bank card by barnesandnoble.com . Since I have never even been to their web site I know this was not an authorized charge and the fact that I was at the hospital that day with a very ill friend of mine. I have tried contacting them repeatedly but cannot get through due to high call volume and the fact that they ask for an account number for reference before you can even talk to an agent. I have also emailed and them and still no response. Does anyone know how to get an agent on the phone who can actually help? Of course I am filling out the papers with the bank to dispute the charges but who knows how long that will take.

Your card maybe compromised

One of two things have probably happened. Either somebody made a purchase and accidentally transposed numbers and it hit your account or somebody has gotten ahold of your card and is using it. It happened to me back in August. Either keep a very close eye on your account or ask the bank to cancel your debit card and reissue a new one. I know that's a pain but it's what I had to do. Good chance you have identity theft occurring.
