They will rip you off no matter how smart and how prepared you are. Really. My father bought a used car from them and they charged him a $350 "preparation" fee before he took it home to make sure eveything was up to par. He took the car home and the next day was rollign down the back windows and they wouldn't go back up. He took the car back to them and they said they'd have to contact the previous owners (?) and they'd call him in 3 days. Of course they never called and when he went there they said since it wasn't a safety issue, they didn't have to fix it. They refused to do anything for him and were rude and dismissive.

It's truly unbelieveable how ruthless and underhanded these people are. Beware.

I don't think any dealer can rip you off if you are truly prepared.

"They will rip you off no matter how smart and how prepared you are. Really. My father bought a used car from them and they charged him a $350 "preparation" fee before he took it home to make sure eveything was up to par."

OK, a $350 "preparation fee" on a used car? That's a completely bogus fee, only meant to increase the price of the car. Paying such a fee is not smart, nor does it indicate you've done your homework. On top of that, relying on this mythical "preparation" by the seller, rather than having an independent inspection is exactly the opposite of smart.

Your father did all the wrong things in this deal. No different from the thousands of other similar ripoff reports. If you go into a deal unprepared and willing to believe anything that comes out of the salesman's mouth, you've left yourself wide open to be taken. If you do your own homework, don't pay bogus fees and have the car inspected by a trusted mechanic, you stand a much better chance of not getting robbed on a lemon.
