Be. Productions went out of business in Spring 2009 in it's Northern California division. In 2008, we paid over $2000 for a year membership which was near worthless.  We then paid over $80 for useless pictures (not headshots, pics were required to staple to info cards for their "showcases")

They promised that we would be in one of their productions, but they never contacted us as to production times and dates.  Also we were unable to receive any valid information when we tried to contact them regarding their shows.  In short, he was never in one of those shows.

We then paid $300 for a 6 week summer acting boot camp through Rising Stars, one of Be's affiliates. Rising stars then kept withdrawing money from my account even though he wasn't enrolled in their fall classes.  I never got reimbursed the $320 from Rising Stars for the classes my son never took.

The only good thing that happened was that at one of their showcases, a legitimate agent took my son on as a client.  He has been auditioning all summer for film, commercials, and TV and can't wait to get a job.

If your kid wants to be an actor, take acting classes.  Ask the acting teacher for names of legit agents. Make an appt. to audition for the agent(s) the teacher recommends.

Acting classes ARE expensive, it's a fact, so be prepared to pay about $250 a month. Headshots ARE expensive, they are $250.  But don't get them until you are signed on w/ an agent.

I could have saved myself nearly $3000 if I had known the above information.

Good luck and STAY AWAY from acting clubs.  They are a waste of time and money.
