I called Beaman Dodge to find out how much will be to have my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan diagnosed to find out what is wrong and the cost of the repair since the check engine light is always on and the back wiper did not work anymore.

Was told that the cost is $90.00 and don't have to pay that if decide to have the car repair.  Other wise it just the $90.00 diagnostics fee to find out everything that is wrong with the car and how much will cost to repair.

After dropping off the car and being notified about the diagnostics results it is going to cost a lot of money to repair what is wrong with the car and because currently can not afford the repair costs decided not to repair it.

When went to pick up the car and pay for the diagnostic fee which I was expecting will be $90.00 plus tax I was charged a total of $197.55

When read the copy of the paperwork that stated what is wrong with the car I noticed that I am being charged for 2 separate diagnostic fees of $90.00.  One for the check engine light reason and another one for the back wiper.

At no point I was told that there was a $90.00 diagnostic fee for each thing to check.  I was told that the $90.00 to check everything that was wrong with the car.  If I would have been informed of the additional $90.00 for the back wiper I would told them not to check on that and only on the check engine light which was more important.

I feel this is unfair and very tricky.  They did not disclose propertly and at the end I have to pay more for this and not easy since currently on a very tight budget.

I advise everyone to be careful and watch out for their service business practices since they are not honest upfront with you.

I have sent an e-mail to the dealership letting them know about this and told them that I deserve and expect a refund for the additional diagnostic fee that I was charge.  If I don't I will be disputing the charges with my bank.
