Beau Derma Would not cancel trial offer when I contacted them to do so Santa Ana California

First TO RIPOFF ~ A better catagory and description for this complaint would be: Health and Beauty     and then      Beauty Products.                          It is not a drug manufactuer but closest of choices given.

I have seen many ads and free trials for beauty products and other health (weight loss products especially) products on the internet.

Beware of this company's offers

My complaint about this company, Beau Derma, regards their "Free Trial". I am interested in a product that might work but when I found this which was a link from a DR.  OZ story, who should NOT hold any clout, in my opinion, after this 'Ripoff'.

I filled out the form for the free trial for the Beau Derma anti wrinkle cream. When I submitted it the next page came up with a price of $5.95 for the shipping and handling. At first I had second thoughts so I tried to get off that page to go back to previous page to remove my personal information but instead of going back a "special offer"  popped up to charge only $1.95 so I figured 'what the heck' and let it go...for $1.95 it was worth a try, or so I was thinking then. Upon clicking on the submit button, without doing anything else, the serum product came up as if I had ordered it as well and it was charged to me at $5.95. I was not happy but could not find a way to cancel it. Two days later I called my credit card company to verifiy the charges and those two were made. I figured all I could do was try them and see.

Well, I was not impressed with the products. I went back to see what they had said about the product again, just to see and I found this RIPOFF REPORT site with all these complaints. I read a few and then immediately called to cancel the product for any future charges. The representative I got had a heavy accent and was difficult to understand. I told her I was not satisfied with the products and wanted to cancel any future charges and cancel the sending of additional products. She told me I had to pay $89.95- I told her no. She said she would give me a special rate of $23.95- I said no and asked to speak with her supervisor. She told me they were busy with other customers. Yes, with all the other complaints, I thought. I told her I would wait. She told me she would give me the best rate of $14.95- I asked to speak with her superviser again. She told me again they were busy with other customers. I told her I wanted the address to return the products which she did give me and told me I had to pay the return postage, I agreed with "I guess I have no choice" and she said I have to have the Merchandise Return # and put me on hold while she went to get it. In a minute I was disconnected.

I immediately called my credit card company to see it I had been charged and if so to dispute. They had not yet charged me. I was thankful and asked if I could have a notation on accouct to not accept charges from that company. She informed me that after the charge was made I could then dispute it. I told her what happened when I called the company customer service to cancel and my credit card rep suggested I cancel the credit card immediately and then there won't be any way for them to make the charge. That is what I did. I would suggest that you don't order 'a free trial' because it is NOT FREE.

Besides the money they will bill your credit card no one needs the aggravation trying to deal with this company's customer service. It is unneccessary stress, lost time and money. If they do charge your credit card then call your card company and dispute it. A good credit card company should do this for you.
