*UPDATE Employee: The lowdown on BeenVerified and where we get our info
I tried to do a background check on someone for my business. Totally inaccurate info! The current address is wrong, previous addresses are wrong, date of birth is wrong, age is wrong, the report mixed many other people with similar names in report. I don't know which ones are accurate and which ones aren't. I found so much more accurate information with my own research and for FREE! I don't recommend wasting your money on false information!!!!!

Don't Buy Their BS

The truth is that companies such as this one use sensitive information given out by citizens who are not aware that slime like BeenVerified can come along and sell it to a stalker or identity thief, among others. Like a good citizen, you exercise your constitutional right to vote and your personal information ends up in the hands of these creeps.
This sort of thing is why people don't want to register to vote, or be jurors.
These guys sleaze their way into your private information, claiming it was all "public" anyway, and then hand it out to ANYONE. Anyone. They have no idea how that person will use your information, and they do not care. If you get raped or assaulted, or robbed, or have your identity stolen, they don't give a hot d**n, and they will never be held accountable because they hide their cowardly selves behind all sorts of phony blather about how it was all public information anyway.
They actually promote themselves by telling people they make it easier and cheaper to gather information about anyone.
Sleazeballs like these guys interfere with the safety of every citizen in this country, and they're not even embarrassed to admit it. They also interfere with each citizen's right to exercise his or her right to vote, serve on a jury, serve as a witness, or bring a lawsuit because now they have to live in fear of retaliation. BeenVerified makes it super easy and super cheap for people to anonymously and without explanation access your sensitive personal information.
Write to the New York State Attorney General's office, your state's AG's office, the FTC, the FCC and your representatives and complain about this blatant invasion of privacy and aiding and abetting of potential criminal activity. It's time to stand up to companies who sell your information to strangers.

Hey Alex, Im the Community Manager for BeenVerified, thanks for the comment. Were sorry to hear about your experience, but Id like to clear up a few things. See, we get all our information from public records. Meaning that when you get a parking ticket or signed up for a credit card, your information is stored. So, when you move or get married, your public records obviously take time to update, especially if they are not digitized (which may have been the case with you).
Another reason why you may have received inaccurate information is because the person could have a different given name or you dont have the correct details. All this can factor in your search results, which of course, are based on the information that you input. The more you have, the better your search will be, such as the right age, their e-mail address, or even their relatives. Sure, there are tons of people with the same name, this isnt news. However, its important to have the relevant information before searching in order to get the right results. All of this can help you paint a more relevant picture.
Were the first the say that BeenVerified isnt the only magic silver bullet when conducting relevant searches. A better way is to use it in conjunction with other tools, like search engines. Think of us as the place to pick up where Google leaves off, giving you that piece of mind when you arent sure what the next move should be.
