I ordered the trial package from Bella Clear on December 14, 2007 for the shipping fee of $4.87. I waited and waited on it to arrive and when it had not by the 1st of January, I emailed customer service. I was concerned that I would be charged the full price before I even got the products to try out. The response I received back was that my account had already been cancelled. I didn't worry about any of it anymore.

I did receive my intro package around January 9th and because I was told my account was already closed, I didn't send it back. I certainly was not going to keep my membership with this company because it took so long for me to get my items and because my account was mysteriously cancelled on its own.

Yesterday I noticed a charge to my Visa for $78.41 from Bella Clear. I called all evening and got a recording saying they were closed for the holidays and would reopen on December 26th...you would think they could afford to pay someone for 2 minutes work time to record a more current message with all the money they are taking from people.

I sent an email to customer service and when I got up this morning I had not received a response yet. So I called again at around 10, and after being on hold for over half an hour, I finally spoke to someone. I told him the problem and he said because I did not return the items I was being charged the whole amount. He said I have had the products over 30 days. I explained to him that I did not receive them untill only about a 2 weeks ago and that I had no problem sending it back, I did not like the stuff anyway. He said he could either let me keep the items and refund me $35.00 or I could send them back and receive a refund for $58.81. I opted to send it back.

I suppose I should have gone ahead and sent it back as soon as I got it, but I was under the impression that my account had been closed out. I was never told in the email I received to return the products or I would be charged. I assumed that if I did not cancel, they would continue to send products and I would be charged for future shipments.

Anyway, I suppose I could report them to the BBB but I guess since I did not send the products back it is my fault. I must have missed that somewhere. However, I do feel that I was taken advantage of, and I do not recommend doing business with this company. Besides, their products do not work as descrbed anyway.

I was told that I will receive my partial refund within 72 hours of them receiving my return. I will be getting delivery confirmation, so if I do not get my money back within 72 hours of when they get my package I will report them to the Better Business Bureau.

HOW TO BEAT THEM AT THEIR GAME

AUTHOR: Karmasmessenger - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 11, 2009

HERE'S HOW TO BEAT THEM AT THEIR GAME:
I got my trial and the very same day that it arrived I went to the website to cancel. I had read all the terms and I'm sorry to tell you all but it DOES in fact say that you'll be charged the $78.41 EIGHT days after ORDER PROCESSING. Since we as customers have no way of knowing when "order processing" took place, I decided to play it safe and go ahead and cancel. So, you go the the website, click 'easy cancel', it'll give you 3 options, click 'request RMA' and you'll have about 14 days (don't quote me on that, but it'll give you an exact date) to get it back to them.

I fell for this trial crap through another site that has an ad on Facebook, something about a free Nikon camera. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. They have you sign up for all these free trials for small fees (around $5) but then you get to the end and you have to book a $2000 vacation. If you ask me, THAT is the real scammer.

All this being said, I actually do notice a HUGE difference in my acne just after two days. I hate to say it but this Bella Clear may actually be working. I've tried everything and nothing has worked without severely drying my skin. I have mixed emotions about this because I do not have the money to pay $80 a month but I'm really enjoying this product. Ugh. Catch-22.

In closing, I just want everyone to please READ EVERYTHING before you sign it. And anything you charge to a credit card you can dispute, BUT if you agreed to the terms, you're screwed. What I do is take a screenshot of the terms before I sign up. I also called Bella and spoke to someone about some questions I had and audio recorded the convo on my cheap little MP3 player. You can't trust anyone these days, so always cover your own a** and keep evidence! Also, don't expect the Better Business Bureau to do anything. If you want results file complaints with the FTC (www.ftc.gov).
