Belmont Homes - Ongoing problem with wet walls - mold and mildew

I purchased my mobile home from Belmont Manufactured Housing in May of 1999 from a mobile home sales lot in Baton Rouge, La. In August of that same year, I noticed that my hall wall was wet, I could touch my wall and dent it in!!! I placed a call to Belmont and the came to my home and changed the wallboard out.

About 6 months later, I had the same problem except this was several walls, not the one that they had just changed on their last visit. Belmont crews came out and took out EVERY wall in my home, sprayed the insulation and 2x4s with bleach/water solution, in which the repair guy bleached my hall carpet. They put on new insulation, then house wrap, then my walls.

Anyhow, I discovered that about 80% of my walls in my home are wet, I noticed this in August of 2001. I placed a call and until this date, NO ONE has bothered to come to my home and inspect the problem.

This will make the fourth time that these people have been out to my home to "FIX" the problem. They tell me that an engineer from the Manufactured Housing Research Alliance will be in contact with me. A man did make contact with me from there and stated that he would call back to set up an appt. but never did. So, I called him back about a month later, he stated that he would try to make the appt for the weekend of October 19, 2001. That if that wasn't good, he would call me back and let me know.

Like I said, NO ONE has made any effort to come to my home. I have two small children, one is 2 and the other 5. The smell of mold is horrible in my home, at times. I saved samples from the first time Belmont ripped my home apart.

My family stays with sinus problems, coughing, my son's nose bleeds about 1-2 times per month. I am really at the end of my rope. I ahve numerous emails from several environmental agencies, including Washington. I would tell anyone, DO NOT PURCHASE A BELMONT HOME
