After my husband signed the contract for a used 2007 Dodge Charger with 115300 miles on it, I noticed the next day that the cash price we were told is stated as double that on the contract. We were told it was $8900 cash and on the contract is is $16800 cash price! After contacting the dealer, we decided to go in and have the contract fixed but the manager refused to change it and refused to show an explanation of how he came up with this amount.
After contacting the BBB and being treated very poorly by the dealer, they called a couple of days ago, which was a little over a month after the purchase date and told my husband to bring the car back in so the contract can be cancelled, that even though he did not purchase the cancellation option, the paperwork can be backdated to make it look as if he did. I contacted the DMV regarding the license of this dealer and it is invalid. The dealer number put on the contract is not a number connected to this particular dealer. My husband called to ask about the license and he was told that they cannot give him this information and hung up on.

So, did you pay the cash price?

I'm a little confused by your report. You said the cash price was negotiated as $8900. How could he put a different amount in the contract if you were paying cash right then at the time of purchase?
Did you decide to finance the purchase instead? If so, then the terms would change. The time to notice the terms and price on the contract was before you signed it. I don't like car salesmen and F&I guys either, but that is all the more reason to watch them like a hawk while they are writing up the contract. Don't sign anything unless you read it and the written contract agrees with the deal you made for the vehicle.
