Best Movers of America Scammed by Moving Company Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Typical scam and I fell for it!  Cannot believe I got caught up in this.  Thought I researched the company but boy was I ever mistaken.  Technically they did pick up the day they said--just way late.  Of course it cost more than they said--by $500.00 plus, and of course everything was my fault--I didn't understand how it worked.    They wouldn't leave my house until I gave them a 10% tip but they didn't force me to do that! 

It was 10:00PM and I was alone and they wouldn't shut up an leave.  When I called to find out why there was such a discrepancy in price they were very fast talking and very rude.  The would not give me a delivery date until I deposited more money in their bank account.  They threatened to leave my things back in Floorida on the driveway and made it very clear that they had 21 day to deliver.  The sheriff can't do anything, consumer affairs lets you file a report but nothing happens until you give the movers the cash they want. 

When they finally brought my things almost EVERYTHING had some kind of damage--glasses broken, picutres broken and messed up, chips in furniture, etc.,  They did not deliver one of my office chairs and broke one they did.  They delivered someone else's linens but won't tell me what to do with them or respond to my email.  I have absolutely no clue how to file for their pittance of insurance.  I'm sure nothing will be done to help me but I wanted the world to know about these people.  Do Not Do Business with them. 

They have a web site with a lot of different locations but when you call the numbers they all funnel back to the original place and people.  We also found out after the fact that the DOT number they have has only one truck registered to it and is at a completely different address than they list on their paperwork. The truth is they have all the protection in the world and you, the consumer, have NONE.  Sad situation.  I would never have moved my things if I had know what would happen.  It was absolutely the worst, most stressful move ever in my life!
