Our company did some ads for Better Beverages which were authorized by the then president and on several occasions, Nguyen stated he would get the check cut but it was all a scam. Later, Pretending that the ad hadn't run, David "Lam" Nguyen says he never used our work. Our company has correspondence, delivery receipts and printed copies of the ad that ran in a Grocery publication, so much for not using the material.

Better Beverages North America is one of the more recent "businesses" of David "Lam" Nguyen and his protege Berdj Konyalian. Driving a top of the line Mercedes and dressing well, David likes to present the air of a successful businessman, but it's all a sham, missed car payments, never paid tailors and never paid suppliers.

Bill payments are promised and sometimes a post-dated check is given but usually stop payments preclude cashing them.

Even when they have been taken to court, they flaunt the court and don't remit the court agreed to funds.

An absolute control freak, Nguyen doesn't pay his employees, simply promise to and then fire them several months later for some contrived excuse-but never paying them their back pay. David is careful not to have his name on anything but uses other people to front the chairmanships of his "businesses", and gets lawyers letters authorizing him to make the corporate decisions.

In one lunch meeting he apologized for being late because the chairman of Charles Scwalb in the US had called to enquire about listing his company on the Nasdaq. Playing along, I mentioned a fictitious name for the president of Schwalb and mentioned he had graduated from my school. Nguyen took the bait and fluffed along with his story. Imagine, the president of a US investment bank calling an unknown company with no products at the time, and no sales of any kind but wanting to take that company public. All orchestrated by an imaginary president.

David Nguyen has used the Ali Baba website in the past to perpetrate some of his excesses. So be wary if you should come across any of his future "opportunities" on trade web sites. He likes to work in milk powders and overseas markets. Currently David Nguyen and Berdj Konyalian appear to have retreated to their Montreal base possibly trying to avoid further lawsuits.
