Big O Tires Warranty not honored Oakhurst, California

Tire warranty Rip-off by "Big-O” Tires.

I purchased a set of tires from “Big-O” they wore out quickly.  

“Big-O” said that because I was driving a Prius, and because I did not have the tires rotated and the wheel aligned: they would not honor the warranty.

While I did not like this, since they knew what kind of car it was when they put the tires on it.  I asked: if I bought more tires made sure they were rotated and the wheel aligned would they honor the warranty.  

"Yes."

So I bought again. Soon (20,000) miles; the tires are down to the wear bar.   

This time they tell me, I live in the wrong place. Now they know where I live (4 miles from their shop) they know the car I drive (Prius), they know I am a slow driver (64 Years old).

Suddenly, the warranty is going to be honored at one-half. The warranty was for 50,000 miles, they offered to Buy one tire if I bough three.  Their tires lasted 40% of their warranty and claim; thus they should have put in 60%.

So if you buy from “Big-O”, be prepared to give a big "O" when they do not honor their warranty.

Do not buy because of the warranty or because of their promises; buy knowing that the tire's you get are going to get about half the mileage they claim.

Please, once they get you once, don't do what I did and believe that this time Lucy will let you kick the ball.  It is not going to happen. 

Lick your wounds and find somewhere else to do your business.

Finally, do not use their consumer complaints or Warranty telephone numbers.  It took a long time and it was pretty clear from the get go; that the customer is not right.  While they were nice people; the questions were leading.
