On November 25, I agreed to do a favor for a friend, by letting him use my bank card for an online purchase of an upgrade to World of Warcraft. The internet site said that the account was ineligible for an online upgrade, so I gave him the money back that would have covered the purchase, and he bought the upgrade disc from a local retailer.

Two days later, on Thanksgiving of all days, Blizzard's online services billed my bank account for a purchase that his account was suddenly and miraculously able to receive. Keep in mind, he had already upgraded his account through a boxed copy of the disc, and now they are saying it happened electronically.

Do not trust your account information to a company that does not provide anything immediately!! They are now denying any liability for the fact that the upgrade service had to be purchased twice and the overdraft fees this caused my bank to charge me. I have never played the game before, and now I never will.

As far as I am concerned, the administrators of Blizzard Entertainment and all of its gaming subsidiaries can rot in the darkest corner of whatever purgatory they believe in for practicing such shoddy business ethics. Either provide a service or don't, but don't charge for a service you are unable to provide!
