On May 19th 2016 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri a reasonableness and fairness hearing will be held to consider wethere to approve a settlement of the class action suit against Blue Buffalo.

I for one do not think it is fair at all. The only people that actually benefit from this would be the lawyers, the claimants would at the most if they can document the amount they spent is 200 dollars.

I for one spent way over that amount in the course of seven years that I was fooled into feeding my cat the dry food Blue Buffalo claimed that was free of all the bad ingedients that I sought to avoid when feeding my cat.

However as they admitted but passed the buck to their supplier, they did in fact defraud many many persons. yet why is it that we are only getting refunded up to 5.00 per 50.00 of money spent???

Sure we can hire our own lawyer and sue them and not be a claimant but who has that kind of money sitting around?

The total is 32 million yet who is getting most of this? Certainly not the victims.

My cat became obese from eating even their so called "limited ingredient diet" even though I did not even feed him the recommended amount. In March of 2015 my boy cat became blocked from urinary chrystals I had to have an emergency surgery done, it took him two months to recover, I was beside him every step of the way, I could not work, sleep or eat.

The total bill was about 3000.00 I called blue and asked told them that the dry food caused this. They told me to fill out a claim form and submit the vet bills along with receipts which I had to drive around to two stores to get plus go online to get the others from my perks account. Not all of what I spent was on here.

Blue Buffalo told me that one of their investigative vets would look over my claim, this took about 8 weeks. I received a letter back stating that where denying my claim based on the fact that the vet could not say that my cats problems stemmed from their food. Well now everyone who has pets knows that vets won't do this, so. Was set up to fail! My cat lives like a king he has NO stress, the only stress his urinary tract has was consuming food that was supposed to be clean, not full of the gunk that I paid extra money for! Bags are about 34.00 for 11lb.

I then filed a complaint to the BBB in MA and of course again really got nowhere with them. They refuse to even pay me for ALL of the bags that I bought that I do have receipts for. I am not rich I am paying by the moth for my cats surgery. This money was going to go to pay the vet.

I think that Blue Buffalo is a scam and a company full of money mangers that really do not care about their customers and put on a good show. 32 million probably won't put them out of business but I hope so. I would like anyone who reads this to do some investigating about the food you feed your pets, even if you do it seems that companies can "pass the buck" and blame their suppliers with just a slap on the hand. I will be filing an objection to the court ruling for May, might I suggest anyone else who is in my boat do the same.

And?

The only people that actually benefit from this would be the lawyers,

- And this is a suprise to you?

Of course it is the lawyers who benefit the most. Please don't say you really think it was the members of the "class" that got the most benefit?

Contrary to what the media, and the Class Action lawyers want you to believe it is ALWAYS the lawyers who benfit the most.  That is why some of the craziest lawsuits are Class Actions.   Now, the reason is more a mathmatical one.  There are a minimal amount of lawyers on the suit, but there could be thousands of "Class" members.

With any judgement the lawers get right around 30-40%.  The courts(yes the courts) get about 10% or so depending on the size of the class to administer the payments.  The lead plantiff is the only person who really gets anything significant.  The remaining members(which could be in the 10's of thousands) get the remaining amount.  So by the time it gets dispursed evenly each member may get just a few dollars.

Just be glad you have the opportunity to get something.  Quite often the Class Members, get nothing more than a discount coupon good for future purchases.

As you said you could remove yourself from the class, but that will cost you money and you still may not end up with any sort of "windfall"
