Brooks Institute Brooks Misrepresented Themselves & What They Were Offering Ventura, California

Brooks told me that my classes form a different private art school would transfer in... Admissions moved quickly to secure my registration. Once there I saw that classes had not transferred and that I was enrolled in basic design courses. I was assured that they would fix it.

3 months in, after numerous stops to student services, i decided to get aggressive and meet with the head of that dept. she told me "admissions will tell you what you want to hear to get you in." so i asked what they were going to do about it... "nothing" she replies. i immediately returned my equipment and said my good byes.

i threatened to sue for the money i had already paid in (no classes transfer out and why would they? i had already taken them at my previous school!). we parted ways and i was prepared to chock up the lost money to life education (in the hundreds of dollars)...

next thing you know, Brooks wants the remaining $12k for my student loans! i issued letter after letter explaining they lied to me and misrepresented themselves- the response was we will look into it. The last i 'd heard from them was summer 2010... we left it that i refused to pay another dime for their scandalous behavior/practices and that if they wanted to discuss it further we could do so face to face or via email, but that i had no intention of speaking with them over the phone since there was no way to review the conversation for records...

well over a year later i get a call from a lawyer representing brooks who is now suing me! If you went to a restaurant and ordered a meal that came with out with a roach under the pasta there would be no question that not only would your meal be comped with the chef's sincerest apologies, but provisions would be made by the restaurant to ensure you were properly cared for...

I uncovered an enormous roach after sampling my "plate of Brooks" and the "restaurant" wants me to pay full price! almost 2 years later! WHAT A RIP OFF. If anyone knows of anyone that can help me fight this- please give them my info... I'm disgusted with them to say the least. Thank you.
