Budget Rental Car Avis Budget Car Rental, LLC Advertised Prices and Coupons are Scams Internet

Budget, like most rental car companies, advertises rates and offer coupons to bring in customers, who might choose other car rental companies. I had a coupon, which offered a 3rd free day, when renting for a weekend. When I got to the counter, they offered, and I accepted an upgrade, ensuring with the agent, that the coupon rate would still be valid. The coupon and the agent stated the validity of the coupon, and that I would be given a rebate or credit back on my credit card, at the end of the rental period.

So after renting the vehicle, and waiting for a credit to appear on my credit card for over 2 weeks, I called to inquire. The customer service agent, gave me two incorrect excuses for not honoring the coupon. Finally, after pointing to all of the various print and statements in the contract, my case was escalated to management. The manager basically tried to settle with me, stating that "they could not afford to offer a coupon on the upgraded vehicle." So the manager agreed to give me approximately 50% of the coupon value. Of course, I was unhappy and we had heated discussions, and I pointed out that the company appeared to do everything possible to NOT HONOR the discounts and coupons that they offer. To date, I have not received anything but rude bahavior from the Budget Rental Car Representatives. I have not even received the 50% coupon credit, that was the management settlement.

To sum up, Budget did not ever credit my account to the correct rate; When I called to complain, they gave me 3 different reasons for not honoring the coupon, finally agreeing to give "a portion" of the discount; they have been extremely disrespectful-and have been even more beligerent when I point to their own paperwork, which completely proves them WRONG; and finally, it has been approximately one month, and I have no credit to my credit card account-not even "the portion" of the coupon rate which was promised as a settlement. To date, I have paid full price for a rental vehicle that I only rented because of an advertised coupon rate. This equals approximately 50% more than the advertised rate.
