Budget Truck Rental Ripoff Equipment in Poor Condition Dangerous Truck Over Charging Columbus Ohio

DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL - READ MY STORY !!! -

I reserved and rented a truck and auto car carrier from Budget Car and Truck rental in Columbus Ohio Feb. 27, 2005. Upon my arrival to pick up the equipment: I found after trying to load my vehicle (a brand new 2005 Chevrolet Corvette - MSRP $52,800.00) that there was a flat tire on the car carrier. Budget failed to inspect the equipment upon transfer and release to me (carelessness). I was then informed that because it was a Sunday that it would not be possible to have the car carrier repaired by Budget unless we lied, said the vehicle had already left the lot and called roadside assistance (which we did). I was then informed that the appliance hand truck I had reserved was not there and they would have to find me one. I had reserved this equipment a week earlier and I was forced to go load my truck (without the car carrier - which was being repaired) and appliance dolly (which I desperately needed). After loading the truck I returned to load my Corvette on the car carrier and with the assistance of a Budget employee we managed to DAMAGE my brand new car on the carrier that I was GUARANTEED by Budget would work with my car. Which I can personally GUARANTEE does NOT work with a 2004/2005 Corvette!!!

I then got on the road with the truck (which had over 90K miles on the odometer). The truck pulled severely to the right and had a severe front end wobble and was difficult to drive. Being that this was the only truck available and I had already loaded it, I had no choice but to get on the road. I later discovered that I had been driving in the SNOW, RAIN and poor road conditions with a flat rear tire (four rear tires on this truck). Which was probably the cause of the truck driving so poorly and another example of Budget failing to inspect the vehicles condition. Budget has delivered the worst service and quality of equipemt of ANY rental company I have ever used and to add insult to injury they have denied my claim for the damage to my BRAND NEW 2005 Corvette. DO NOT USE BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL
