Business Filings Division Deceptive Company pretending to be agents for the State of California Sacramento, California

The company Business Filings Division attempts to deceive consumers by presenting themselves as representatives of the State of California or agents acting on the behalf of the Secretary of State, Business Division, State of California.

CAUTION:  They mail flyers which mimic the appearance of official State of California forms for the filing of Statement of Information of corporations with the state of California. Their forms attempt to imitate the state form in most every way including the use of a bogus State of California Seal.

In order to avoid Criminal charges, they do include in fine print at the bottom of their form a statement advising that their Service has not been approved or endorsed by any government agency and that they are not a government agency. In addition they do not use an actual State of California Seal on their form, but an imitation seal with the name of Business Filings Division California.

The Service this company purports to offer is that they will file with the State of California the information you provide on their form for a fee of $235. So in effect they will copy the information which the customer writes on their Fake State of Information form to an official State of California form. Whereas if the customer had mailed the official form to the state it would have only cost them $25.

Lastly it should be noted that they attempt to time the arrival of their bogus State of Information form about a week or two before the actual state of information form arrives from the Secretary of State of California. This company attempts to prey on the gullible in the hopes that the consumer will not realize that their flyer is not from the Secretary of State.

All consumers should be warned against their deceptive business advertising practices.
