I am just finishing up my fourth quarter at Capella. Although I have questioned, complained, and attempted to get specific, valid answers to MANY questions over the past year, I have not been successful. Capella will take your financial aid money and return any excess they feel you should receive and not until they feel you should receive it. If you question anything regarding financial aid, good luck getting answers. All you get is a run around and then treated like you are violating Capella's rights by questioning.
Professors (what a joke) are unreachable. Assignment requirements and rubrics are vague, subjective, irrelevant, incomprehensible, and only used by faculty when it's convenient for them. Student questions are very seldom answered. Student concerns are NEVER addressed.
Try to get the name and/or contact info for anyone in authority at this school. It won't happen. All names and contact info are a HUGE secret. I have tried to file complaints against professors for unfair grading (I have been a 4.0 student all my life) and have been discouraged and outright unable to get the info I need to do this. Another deep, dark, HUGE secret.
Horrible school. If you don't have time or money to waste, STAY AWAY from this one!!!

UPDATE:
Capella advisors promised to help with the issues previously mentioned so I decided to give them another chance. Guess what? It never happened. I registered for another class after my last complaint on 2/24/2014. Things have actually gotten WORSE. I didn't think it was possible but Capella has succeeded in becoming worse than the worst!!!
They have MANY excuses but provide NO assistance. This is definitely a "school" to stay far, far away from. They will teach you nothing but take your money, whether financial aid or right out of your pocket - and act like you are the lowest form of life on the planet if you question or complain.

This type of online university is not designed for an actual edcuation. They are revenue generating machines (IMO). If you have been a 4.0 student all your life, then check out a traditional college or university that has a respected online presence. If you go to one of the legitimate universities you will see a difference in the quality of education. Plus, the degree will have value after you graduate. Why throw away all that money on a degree that has no value after graduation?
To find a legitimate university with an online presence, research your state public university system. You may even combine online classes with physical classes as well. Before you jump to a good school, check the contract you have with Cappella first to find out if you have guaranteed a particular amount of time and money first and make the change when it is best for you. There is nothing wrong with online learning. But you have to choose your online university carefully.
