Capital Management Bad landlord Edmonton, Alberta

Feb. 1993 June 1994: I rented a two-bedroom apt., #109, 10750-29 Ave., Edm. The manager was Harry Brewer (English bloke no longer there) (428-6511) of Capital Management (confirmed to still be the landlord August 11, 2009). I moved out because:

1) My little brother nearly had his teeth knocked out by an unsafe tennis net handle which the landlord refused to fix.  On August 11, 2009, 15 years later, I noticed that they had fixed it.

2) Patio doors were unsecure the whole time I was there despite the landlord, Harry Brewer assuring me they were.  I found out after 1 1/2 years that the only thing holding the fixed patio door in place were 4 finger tight screws.  Once those were out, the patio doors could simply be lifted out of the tracks.  I installed a pin lock; however, I would warn others against doing that because drilling glass can break it (I know from experience).  I visited the building August 11, 2009 and found out from the tenants that the same problem with the patio doors still exists.

3) The manager, Harry Brewer, swore, once when I went to him about repairs.  I said, how can you swear; I'm the customer to which he said "You're not a customer.  You're renting a suite from us."  What a load of crap!  Who's paying whom!!!!
