Hello, all of you disgruntled Career Education Corporation customers (I call you that because that is exactly how CEC ofen thinks of you - and rarely as students.) I am an adjunct (considered part time but I actually teach a full course load every quarter with no employee benefits) instructor at one of CEC's brick and mortar schools. Please be aware that your instructors know and understand what is going on with the procedures used to attract students (customers). I am friends with some of the "admissions officers" (recruitors) and they are totally miserable in their jobs, feeling horrible about what they are asked to do to win a student.

There are many, many instructors working for CEC who are dedicated, legitimate, motivated, and qualified to do their job and actually DO care that you get the absolute most for your money.

The point is that if you do your research, carry a big machete with you to cut through the BS the recruiters are required to cover you with and think long and hard about how much YOU want to put into this (don't expect your teachers to baby you....most of us refuse, no matter how much the term "customer service" is mis-used to us) you CAN come out of this with a great chance at success. Some of the program degrees aren't worth much .... but those are usually the ones that aren't worth much no matter WHERE you go to school. It's YOUR job to make sure that degree is worth something to the profession you are entering...regardless of the name of the school on it.

There are enough teachers at CEC who DO care. Many of the educational administrators also really do care and do a wonderful job. The corporate smoke screen and your committment are the two things that you MUST examine without blinders in order to succeed. And you CAN!
