It is about time someone tels the truth about this website Caregiverlist.com.

I applied for a care giver position with this company back in May.

they took my money....some kind of application fee, but they never got me any work.

I tried to call the owner Julie Northcutt to try to get my money back but she would not return my calls.

If you are looking to work as a home care provider in Chicago or any other city be careful of this company CaregiverList.com - they will steal your money and not return you calls.

Just because they have this nice looking site does not mean they are reputable.

Stay away from CaregiverList.com.

If this is how they treat me, I wonder how they are going to treat their patients.....

Donna

I believe this report to be a hoax

AUTHOR: Lori @ Home Care Agency - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 02, 2009

I own a senior home care agency and am I longtime subscriber to Caregiverlist. I am appalled at the blatant lie reported here.

Caregiverlist does not hire caregivers directly (thereby does not "treat their patients" in any way), nor accepts "application fees." Job-seekers post their resume to the site at no cost. A home care agency subscriber (such as myself) then has access to quality senior home care applicants. I am outraged by this misrepresentation.

There is one truth to the report...Caregiverlist.com is a nice-looking site. So nice-looking, in fact, that a copycat site stole Caregiverlist's entire web code and passed it off as their own, perpetrating a deceit.

Shortly after Julie took action against this company, defaming reports such as these began to surface, the first of their kind. The post above shows the lack of sophistication they have.

Kudos to Caregiverlist for moving the industry forward and exposing a fraud. Thank you for your continued advocacy for the senior care community--keep up the good work!

Caregiverlist Provides Quality Information on Working as a Professional Senior Caregiver

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 01, 2009

The information in this posting is incorrect.  This post was made after Caregiverlist took action against a company who inappropriately stole the web page code from caregiverlist.com to post a copycat senior care website and used Caregiverlists trademarked logo and copyrighted content.

Caregiverlist discovered the company advertising on another senior care website, using the Caregiverlist logo and quality standards and took action to have the Caregiverlist trademarked logo and copyrighted content removed.

As an advocate for seniors and caregivers, Caregiverlist continues to be a watchdog for the industry.

1) Caregiverlist charges no fees to caregiver job applicants.  You may visit the website, click on CAREGIVING JOBS in the top Nav Bar and learn all about working as a professional senior caregiver, and submit a job application for free

2) As there is an ongoing need for quality senior caregivers, Caregiverlist provides educational tools for anyone interested in becoming a caregivers and professional senior care companies subscribe to Caregiverlist's services to hire caregivers

4) Caregiverlist provides a toll-free number, in addition to email addresses, for anyone to contact with questions about working as a senior caregiver:  877-773-0255

The national website that the copycat company advertised on did remove them as an advertiser after Caregiverlist informed them that the copycat company provided misleading information.

Although does serve as a platform to educate both seniors and caregivers about the industry, along with providing information about professional job opportunities and an interactive hiring platform for these senior care companies to hire caregivers who apply via Caregiverlist.com

Caregiverlist provides information on background check laws by state, along with the requirements of I-9 forms, which are required for all job applicants on Caregiverlist as hiring senior care companies require all employees,in following U.S. employment laws, to be legal to work in the U.S.A.   As employees, caregivers receive the additional benefit of contributions to their payroll taxes, allowing them to also collect social secuirty benefits when they retire.

In addition, through industry advocacy,Caregiverlist was instrumental in having other senior care sites require criminal background checks which are more than just a name and social security number match for both senior caregivers and nannies.  Caregiverlist provides educational information about how to properly provide background checks for senior care employees, and information on the FCRA and the background check laws in each state which may or may not over-ride the national laws.

Julie Northcutt developed the concept for Caregiverlist.com in 2005 and successfully sold the senior care agency she founded, Chicagoland Caregivers, Inc., to the national company, LivHome, in July, 2007, in order to pursue Caregiverlist full time and bring quality information to seniors and caregivers.  Further information on how the concept for Caregiverlist was developed can be found in the About Us section of Caregiverlist.com

Caregiverlist partners with leading companies in the senior care industry to provide training information for caregivers, including caregiver training videos introduced by newsman Bill Kurtis, Certified Nursing Aide Sample tests and Practice tests, by Headmaster, the company administering the state nursing exams for the department of health in many states, and background checks by Intellicorp.

Caregiverlist continues to be an advocate in the industry for quality standards in senior care and quality training for caregivers.  Caregivers introduced in working for professional senior care companies may submit a job application on Caregiverlist to be considered for positions in their area.  Caregivers may also share their caregiving story on Caregiverlist and submit questions the senior care experts.

You may visit the About Us section of Caregiverlist to learn more about Caregiverlists professional team, view the newsroom (with the company fact sheet), follow our blog and learn more about careers as a professional caregiver in the Caregiver Career section.   We invite you to visit caregiverlist.com to learn more about quality senior care options and working as a professional senior caregiver.
