Caribbean cruise lines Cellphone dialed number for credit card activation diverted to cruiseline call center giveaway. area code 954 Internet

I received a new credit card in the mail and it had a number to call to activate it.  After a slight delay i was forwarded to a cruise line giveaway with Caribbean Cruise Lines. After an extensive sales pitch,and a small amount of money they would send me a vacation package. After a little time i got suspicious. I called the same number from my land line and discovered the number dialed thru to the card activation center. So i called the credit card customer service line to discover that they were not sponcering any giveaway.    Bert   Vancouver Washington.
