I purchased a Carlisle home last January in Fawnlake (Katy, TX). After being promised that the house would be ready in November 2007, we moved in during early January - but many of our walk-through items had not been corrected. Carlisle executives knew that we were living in a hotel, so they twisted our arm to close before everything had been done properly. We have made many attempts over the course of the last year to get these items taken care of - to no avail. We have spoken with Mike, Chuck, Rhonda, and a revolving door number of superintendents durig this time. My husband spoke with Mike LaFoy in December, and was told that he had no one to do the warranty work, due to layoffs and the economy. Mike said that when the economy improved, they would be able to "get on it".

A friend in Pine Lakes has told me that she heard that Carlisle will be filing bankruptcy next week. One of her neighbors attempted to refinance their home, only to find out that there is a lien on his house. The Title Company chosen by Carlisle didn't do their job either!

I also think that we need to find a way to join together to make sure that our interests are protected.

Yes we should get together

If you have claims on your property, you need to immediately send the info to the title company. Your title insurance will protect you if you have a full title policy. I say this because I have researched it. I bought in Pine Lakes recently and understand. I am already looking for an attorney myself. Unfortunately, you may be right about Carlisle Homes which is really sad to see. This market is tough all over.
