In June of this year, I got a loan for $2600.00 through Cash Call. Like alot of people, I needed some extra money to pay off bills. However, I didn't know that the interest rate was 96% and the annual APR was 99.25%. By the time I pay it off, I will haved payed over $9,000! I have read all the other complaints on this website about Cash Call and I think we can all agree on one thing. WE ARE GETTING ROBBED! I just want to know how this company can be stopped? They prey on those of us who are down on our luck. They say that what they are doing is legal because they lend the money themselves. However, I live in Ohio and First Bank of Delaware lended me the money. So is that legal?? If someone has this answer, please let me know. Also, if someone is planning a class action suit, let me know because I want to get involved.

Ohio statutes can be changed

Tom, I would suggest that you send letters to your Ohio state legislature requesting that they enact legislation to ban such usurious loans.
Cash Call and it's partner DO NOT service folks in about 7 states. That is because those states do not allow such usurious interest rates on loan. Unfortunately for you Ohio does. Your legislature can change that.

Tom, you said "However, I didn't know that the interest rate was 96% and the annual APR was 99.25%."
If you had read the terms of the contract you would have known this. Cash Call is a major ripoff but they are required by law (as all lenders are) to disclose all of the terms of the loan on paper. The same paper you signed to recieve the loan.
You can try to sue them as many other have but they have incontrovertible proof that you were informed- your signature on the loan papers. If you failed to read the terms it is your fault not theirs.
I hate to stand on the side of predatory lenders but facts are facts.

Hi, Like many of you, I also have a loan with Cash Call and believe the interest rates are ridiculous. Do what I did. Make a complaint to your State Attorney General's office and explain to them the ridiculously high interest rates Cash Call is charging. I know in Ohio, you can make a complaint online or print a complaint form off the website and mail it in. You'll have to check your State Attorney General website to find out how to make a complaint. These people that make rebuttals and tell you to borrow from family or friends, or to take out a payday loan to pay Cash Call are probably employees of Cash Call. Like I said, the best thing to do is contact your State Attorney General's office. Hopefully, they can help us.

Cash Call - U Borrow U Pay

I took out a loan from Cash Call 3 or 4 years ago for $10K and the interest I qualified
for was about 25%. If I didn't take automatic debit of pymt, the interest would have been 29%. Though home ownership is not required, I think it did help in my case. Like you I needed that extra boost to take care of a few bills. I was able to pay the loan off after a few months of paying refinancing. We have to take responsibility for signing on the dotted line and not blame the creditor.
What do we do when a clothing item at the department store is more than we wish to pay? There are two options: (1) Buy it and then rant and rave at how it's a ripped off (2) Put it back and go look for a cheaper one someplace else. Same principle applies.
You have to learn to "put it back and go look for a cheaper one someplace else". If you sign something knowing it's more than you wish to pay, you lose the right to complain or seek remedy (sue).
