Ok, I consider myself a careful person and one to go over all the fine print but cash call took me for a loop. My girlfriend and I came across some money troubles after a hospital stay and it was going beyond living paycheck to paycheck so it looked like an answer to our problems. She had done everything online borrowing $5000 and the info made no indication of interrest rate or anything just the monthly payments (my first mistake).
After a few months of payments made on time I checked my balance and was surprised to see my balance had exceeded what I had borrowed and I thought there was some kind of mistake. I contacted their customer service and asked for and explaination and a review of the contract agreement and was told to hold, then a new rep came on asking the same confirmation info from me and asked how she could help. I told her the same story I told the first rep and was told to hold...I went through 7 reps like this before becoming infuriated and demanding to speak to a manager who asked the same info as the previous 7 reps!
After confirming my info yet again I was sent basically generic info via fax about the agreement which basically only showed the amount borrowed, the amount owed, and the time in which I had to pay it off (basically everything I already knew). I called them back and got the same run around and only when I left a message saying my attorney would be calling them back if my call wasnt returned within a few hours did I get a detailed breakdown of my bullsh** contract. Apparently when we first made the inquiry we saw in the agreement that the interrest rate varries (naturally) but what we werent made aware was "OUR" specific interrest rate which I had to wrench out of this manager....80%.
I couldnt believe it, so thank god we had about 1500 we had not used yet and made a payment that actually made a dent in the actual loan not just paying interrest. After all was said and done and multiple family members grouped together to help me pay off the rest, they had made more than almost $10,000 of my $5000 loan. And thats not counting all my overdraft charges to my bank account from their "convienient" auto billing feature that I asked them to discontinue so I wouldnt go over in my account. Apparently they lose all record of your requests of this nature no logged phone calls, the reps you ID (name, employee id#, etc) dont exist, and the list goes on. We were in our early 20's and fairly ignorant about getting a loan but man that is their bread and butter. Protect your friends and family from these vicious predetors you will spend the rest of your life paying interrest on a loan that will never be paid off.

STOP PAYING THE MINIMUM MONTHLY PAYMENT ONLY.
You have pay extra towards the loan balance each month, that is the only way to reduce the amount of interest they charge you.
