CashNet USA Suing me for supposed bad check even though I filed Bankruptcy Internet

I got a loan from Cashnet USA back in 2012 and ending up being unable to pay the loan back. I filed for bankruptcy later that year and included this debt in my filing. However, just last week they contacted my mom who then contacted me to give them a call back. They said that they were suing me because of a bad check because my funds were insufficient in my bank account. When I explained that this debt had been included in the bankruptcy I was told that bad checks weren't able to be included in bankruptcy filings. I don't understand why it took 4 years to bring this up and why my bankruptcy didn't cover this debt. I feel that the company is seeking ways to collect this debt even though it should have been discharged through the bankruptcy.
