Central Florida Electric Cooperative CFEC CHARGING TOO MUCH TO HAVE ELECTRICIT Chiefland Florida

Central Florida Electric Cooperative is a complete ripoff. My electric bill this month was $72.89. My usage came to $44.10, taxes came to $1.82....."Facilities charge" (which means the charge to HAVE electricity (not usage) was $29.45. It's costing me MORE to have electricity than the amount i actually used!!!! Why? Because no big electric company wants to touch this piss poor town (2nd poorest county in FL)...Do NOT move here...there's nothing...nothing good that can be said about this area.

The closest city is Gainsville, 50 miles away, there's no hospitals, very little help for the poor, hundreds of churches that don't have more than 25 members and absolutely no help for those in need. No Jobs, nepotism is rampant. No professionals...95% uneducated rednecks are in control of this area. I've never ever paid more than $50/month on the hottest or coldest months in Louisville, Ky, New Albany, Indiana, or even the "tourist town" of Daytona Beach. To charge people over 1/2 of their utility bill for the "privilege" of having electricity is a total ripff!!!!!

This "electric company" should be shut down immediately and someone like Duke Energy needs to step in. This is a town of poor people run by uneducated idiots who care NOTHING for the citizens of this country. Stay away...anywhere...anywhere is better than living in this Hell Hole!!! I keep saying, Old Town, FL is the place where old people (and poor people) come to DIE!! Don't say "just move, then" because I'm being ripped off of so much money that I can't save the money to move. Rural living SUCKS!
