Century Marketing I fell for this scam also. I really wish I could just cancel the magazine subscription, as I do not have time to read them. Georgia
*Consumer Suggestion: Suggestion
My report is the same as the person named Annoyed. The representative was very annoying. I figured after the first bill came in, I could easily cancel my magazine subscription, but couldn't. These people just lowered my payments.
I told the representative that I was in the process of losing my job. He just told me that I couldn't cancel because I agreed to pay for 16 months.
Is there something I can do about this? Is there a way these company can be fined? How can I get some of my money back? When you are sick with a cold, you sometimes cannot think. Here, I had to fall for this scam. Please help me.

Hello Frustrated,
I have an easy solution for you regarding your predicament...all you must do is any of the following 1. File a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) 2. Tell the company that you will write the Attorney General in your State (this is the BIG one and should get all of your money back) Make sure that when you call in, you are very determined about what you want. Don't take no for an answer!!! It is your right as a consumer to cancel anything, especially something as unnecesary as magazines.
P.S. The Attorney General threat will work, if you must, ask to speak to a manager or something...Good Luck--
