I should've known better than to sell my book to these lowlifes. I read the negative reviews but decided to just give these guys a shot. After all they were graded as "B" from the BBB. kWhen you go through the process of selling your book they really do make it easy as 1-2-3. At the end you'll choose whether your book is NEW or USED. Then you print out the prepaid mailer and ship it out. So far so good.
Well, like the previous seller. I too sold Chegg.com a BRAND NEW textbook. When they received it they graded it as "Appears to be like NEW" which means "USED" and then deduct $6 from my quoted price. Hmm reouping their shipping cost perhaps?
My book was NEW. I know its NEW b/c I never used it. It came directly from the manufacturer and sat in my box for 1 semester. I did a search on the internet for "textbook buy back" and Chegg.com popped up. I live in San Francisco and the headquarter is only 1 hour drive away in Santa Clara but your item will be shipped half way across the country. Perhaps to their distribution center.
Who decides on the condition of these books? The person who opens it? Based on their attitude for that morning? Unbelieveable! Dont be deceived by their commercials and clips from youtube or media. They'll tell you to ship out your box within 3 days to quarantee your quoted price. Well, who cares if you'll never get what you're expecting?
This was my first and last time I will deal with company. They need to state how they grade their books and what catagories of grading. Simply asking the seller is your book used or new isnt so cut and dry when you have different gradients for NEW and USED.
I did more research and the positives reviews arent legit. Its so they can fluff up their rating and credibility. Screw these jokers. Avoid at these guys and sell elsewhere. Do your research. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB.
