I bought a 3100 motor for a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu from Chris Auto Recyclers.I used my master card over the phone to order the engine. i received the engine in good time. i had a man that works for a reputable auto dealership install the engine. many problems occurred while he was installing the engine.

First af all it was suppose to be a complete engine assembly. Several major parts were missing. It is a good thing he could use the parts from the old engine. After several weeks he got everything together and started the engine. Immediately the engine had a loud knock in it coming from the crankshaft or rod bearings. The labor and parts cost me $610.00. I called Chris Auto recyclers and talked with Brandon about my situation. He said he would talk with the boss and see what could be worked out. I wanted to send the engine back and get my money back. I did not hear back for a couple of days, so I tried calling again. This time no answer. I tried several days and a lot of calls to contact someone from there. I have yet to get any response from anyone. I do have a copy of their email stating the engine had a 90 day warranty. It has not been that long yet. I purchased the engine on June 4th of 2008. They are purposely not answering my phone calls. I also paid the man $610.00 for labor and parts required to complete the bad engine.

These people need to compensate me for what I have spent on this engine and installitation of this engine. especially since they are not trying to work a deal with me. I am reasonable and patient man, but when someone purposely ignores me, I get mad. Maybe something can be done. I don't know.

Customer refused return of engine.

Engine had 40k miles and was still running when you purchased it. Customer wanted a refund for labor before he sent back. Our company policy does not allow refunds before an item is returned. The customer refused return of the engine.

A "compete" engine does not include starter, alternator, ac compressor, power steering pump, alternator, brackets, engine mounts, wiring harness, computer, or sensors. Those items are to be used off old engine. If any of those items are left on they are only left on for convenience only.

We have a good amount of engines that are still in the vehicle and a lot are still in running condition when pulled. With the number of vehicles we purchase, its hard to pull every engine when the vehicles come in. The engine had 40k miles and was drivable. Our mechanics heard the engine run, the manager heard it run, and the owner heard it run.

The engine needed to be returned for inspection before a refund was given. We told the customer we never heard from him again.

As for your calls not being answered, we receive several phone calls during the day. We occasionally miss calls. We do not have any emails on file that you sent after you purchased the engine.
