CIC Credit Monitoring - Consumerinfo ripoff Wrongfully charged $79.95 to my bank account Orange California

Earlier today, 2/20/04, I found a charge of $79.95 posted in my bank account summary from CIC Credit Monitoring.

Back in mid-December, likely the 20th, I ordered an, as advertised, free credit report from freecreditreport.com. During this process, I can't remember seeing anything pointing me towards their Terms and Conditions, and I know they mention nothing of you being charged at any time, without the selection of special options, otherwise I would have never completed the order.

I'm curious though as to why I'm just now being billed, though, when this should have occured about a month ago now. It should alse be noticed that freecreditreport.com's terms and conditions, found here -

mentions a $7.95 charge after the free trial. While I'm aware this could well be a typo, it is still misleading towards consumers when it appears to be the only mention of such a charge anywhere on the site.
