I signed up for a FREE credit report back in July of 2005,on the website it said the credit card number was ONLY used for verifing your identity, so I thought why not!? I noticed they were charging my account 12.00 every month. I was finally able to find the phone number for them lastnight and called them. They said that I should have contacted the website to cancel my order. I didn't even place an order! After speaking with a supervisor there I was informed I they could only credit 3months back to me in 7-10 days. I would have to FAX a letter to some kind of consumer relations group to get the rest of my money back. However I wanted the phone number to these people but yet they could not provide me with a telephone number either. My husband is serving in Iraq, and this is how the treat me?! I filed a report with the better business bearu of Califorina today, they informed me they have lots of complaints against them already. I will be getting all of my money back.

Nicole, when you signed up for a "free" credit report, you also signed up for a credit monitoring service by clicking on the "I agree" button. All the wording of what you were agreeing to was right there. You went for over one year of being charged and are only now questioning the charges? I'm surprised they offered 3 months refund.
You need to read what you're agreeing to. They did nothing wrong. Good luck in getting your refund. They can prove you agreed to the service, they won't be liable to refund any money, but they might do so as a customer service - good faith move.
