It is a Manager-approved practice to ring people up for a buffet with a soda, to charge the customer the extra $1 for the to-go cup without asking or making sure the customer wants it. The dine-in glasses are of no extra charge, but if you just say, "Buffet with a soda", they automatically charge you for a to-go cup, and they don't give you the cup until after you pay, so you figure its not worth it getting a $1 refund, assume its an honest mistake and go on. But I didn't. I told the girl at the counter that they were ripping off customers, and she looked like she was about to cry, and said that's what her manager told her to do, so since her manager wasn't there, I decided to put him on blast on this site. I wish I knew his name.

You are right, you have every right to want your $1 back. I am a manager of a Cici's Pizza in Colorado. First of all, there should have been a certified manager in the store at all times! That alone is un-acceptable, because they should have been there to help you. Also, they should let you know what you are purchasing before the sale was complete. However, every store/manager has their own way of trying to up-sell. I know at our store, we ask every guest if they would like to purchase the to-go cup for .22 more. Definitely feel free to contact our corporate offices at www.cicispizza.com. We strive to make sure every guest is happy, and I'm sure they will help deal with your situation!

TO-GO Cup Procedure no-no!

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 09, 2009

First, I wan't to apologize for your experience at the listed location. It should have been handled better.

I am a manager of a CiCi's in the North Texas region. As far as corporate operations go, there is supposed to be a manager on site at all times. Anything less is unsatisfactory. I would report this incident to the corporate offices immediately, reporting at least the date of your visit and the circumstances(cicispizza.com).

Every store is a little different with its sales procedures, but you're right, you should have the choice on which cup you purchase. $1 can make a difference nowadays.

I hope you get the satisfaction you deserve.
