I am on SSDI (social security disability income) & collect $860.00 per month. CIGNA kicks in $213.00 per month to make up 1/2 of what I made when I was able to work, which comes to $1073.00. Because my 16 year old daughter, who lives with her mother, gets 1/2 of what I get CIGNA cut me $62.00 per month.
My complaint is that no money fromm SSDI is coming out of CIGNA's pocket, why am I being penalized? Can you help me get this money back. I know that $62.00 per month does not seem like much, but when you make what I do, every dollar helps. I also give my ex wife $213.00 per month for child support, that does not leave a lot to help my wife pay the bills.

find out the what regulations CIGNA go by, and why they cut your check. Don't take their word for it over the phone, have them send you the information as to how they determine that you are only elegible for $62.00. Never take their word for it over the phone. Get the whole information packet if you have to, and get help to understand how they came to their decision. Know your rights.
A Support modification petition will help with your child support payments. On disability, you should only have to pay 17% of your income for one child. That law may not be prevelent in Texas, but if you have to pay, you should learn it. On total disability, you should be able to just pay the minimum of $25. per month.
