I lost my AT&T phone in Las Vegas, then someone picked it up and stole it. When I got back to Arizona I has to go to the Cingular store to get a new phone. Since they didn't have the phone I wanted I had to buy (2) new phones (Family Plan) and switch to Cingular service.

When I got the new plan I Asked the sales person about extra charges and features that were added to the phone that I would have to call and cancel and I WAS ASSURED that all I had was what I wanted, phone minutes and text messaging, there would be nothing that I had to cancel or remove and as for extra charges, all I would get a bill for would be for the minutes and the TM. Ok Good to go!!!

NOT!! The first bill I received was astronomical. I was charged for internet usage, activation, new phone number change and minute overages (it seems that my old plan was prorated and I went over whatever pro-rated minutes I had)

I talked to several reps. at 1-800-Cingular but was told this was an AT&T problem.. you guessed it AT&T said Cingular needs to take care of it.

I finally got a supervisor, who when I read all of my notes to her including names,dates and time of my call she felt that I had suffienct information on Cingular employees to credit my account for everything that i did not want and corrected to pro-rate amount (I wouldn't have gone over if they just left the minutes as is) I thought great problem solved, next month I would get a normal bill for around $80.

Not. The next bill is for $198.00. Seems that all the charges for May didn't reach Mays bill and they weren't going to doing anyhting about those charges because there records don't say the same things that the previous supervisor told me!!!!

Now three days after this bill arrives I receive a bill for $221.?? Why? I am still trying to find out. Acording to Lee Hayes a supervisor I requested that my billing cycle date changed. When I questioned him on this it said he didn't know who I spoke to but they put that info in my file. He was willing to deduct $14.00 from bill but wouldn't budge on the 22 or so dollars.

I still don't know what is going on with this company. I have no idea what my next bill amount will be. i know that I want to cancel service with them but..... I have a $60.00 rebate in Rebate Land that I want. I really don't fell lilke giving them any more extra money.

Thank you for having this site and knowing that I am not the only one having problems with Cingular is wonderful.

I just finished reading some other contract information regarding ATT & Cingular merger... If Cingular can charge old ATT customers early termaanation charges, even if no new Cingular contract signed...WHY can't cingular let old ATT customers use the rollover plan?????? I was told that the only way to use the rollover minutes was to sign a new contract???

Something is really screwy with this merger.
