I filled up my car tank at Peabody Citgo on 11/08/2011 at 18:29:01 for $41.96, then received my American Express bill with that charge PLUS another one at 18:30:12 for $48.80.  I called Amex and explained that I have only one car, and I can't fill it up twice!  The attendant obviously swiped my card a second time before I left.  Amex contacted Citgo, who said they had 2 computer receipts with my card number on them so both must be mine. And the receipts balanced

You can be sure that the cash in the drawer at the end of the shift was dead-on correct.  That's because the same attendant who swiped your card the second time removed $48.80 from the till before closing out.
