Civic Center Financial/Attorney Michael Yellin Loan modification ripoff San Marcos, California

I paid almost $3000 to Attorney Michael Yellin who was contracted by Civic Center Financial to assist me in a loan modification.  I was assured I would get a modification, however, signed a contract stating if no modification was obtained I would receive a full refund.  After being advised that I should stop paying my mortgage since that was the only way the mortgage company would be urged to help me, I was told, after now being behind over $12,000 in mortgage payments that they were unable to help me.  I applied for my refund, which all went through Civic Center Financial by the way, that there would ne problem and I would be receiving my $3000 refund in approx 60 days.  60 days went by and after repeated unanswered phone calls to Civic Center, I finally received a phone call back from Civic Center and was advised that Attorney Michael Yellin had disappeared??? And I would not be receiving any refund.  All the forms I signed have the address and contact numbers for Civic Center Financial, all of my contact over the phone was through Civic Center Financial and I had never spoke to Attorney Michael Yellin.  Despite that Civic Center advised me that they are not responsible in any way and I am on my own.  Needless to say, I will be looking for an attorney to handle this for me, as I will be getting my money back.  I am so tired of being ripped off and I advise anyone who is looking to modify their loan, DO NOT use Civic Center Financial.
