Classic Cabinet Fronts John Vivio Contractor Pays Original Amount Owed, But Customer Loses $4,300 Trying to Settle Case St. Charles, Missouri

Update to file added Mar 8, 2013. After retaining the services of a second attorney in September of 2012, Mr. John Vivio (dba Classic Cabinet Fronts LLC, St. Charles, Missouri) finally offered to pay back the original $3,500 he had accepted from me on November 6, 2010, to remodel my kitchen. My attorney took 33% as a fee, leaving me with a settlement of approximately $2,310. During the 28-months in which I tried to get back the original amount given to Mr. Vivio in 2010, I spent $2,400 out-of-pocket paying two attorneys to handle my case. Under the terms of the Default Judgment I was granted in September 2011, Mr. Vivio actually owed me $5,400 at the time of settlement. So, I lost a total of $4,300 trying to get back a $3,500 deposit from this man for work he never performed. Let this be a warning to anyone who is even thinking about hiring a contractor
