I don't know when I'll learn... if it looks and sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I have a motor home I want to sell, and I came across Classy RV on the web. Big, Impressivwe ad, which led to my calling them.

I spoke to Krista, who gave me spiel, including prices thay've recenlly gotten for an RV exactly like mine... exciting! Then the price for the ad service: $ounded a little high, but I paid by mastercard... $549.00. She told me that this was the only charge for their services: placement in various RV magazines, and E-Bay.

I've actually gotten 4 calls, all of whom were taken aback by the price listed. I got one offer which more reflected the usual price for my RV, which I found on other sites after I began to suspect a scam. about $4000.00 less than the price listed in the ClassyRV ad. (Classy???)

Then a guy from National Vehicle called. He said they'd gotten 4000 hits, 90 of whom were "registered RV users" and that my RV was third from the top in all the RVs in the inquiries from the latter. I was ecstatic... first mistake, then he said he was "going to start the bidding, and he was sure I'd immediately got the listed price, maybe more. I was beyond ecstatic... second mistake. Then he said there would be an extra charge for "activating" the E-Bay ad. He kind of threw this in a mumble.

Needless to say, in my beyond ecstatic state, I readily agreed. Dumb move... the extra charge turned out to be $450.00. He did give me a link to my E-Bay ad, and when I checked a day ago, the top bid was $5000. I sent an E-mail to Krista, and, not surprisingly, have gotten no response.

I'm a reasonably bright guy, but scammers like these people are absolute exprts in sucking people in. This is a big one, to me... $1,000...which I thankfully paid by credit card, whom I've already contacted. They were quite interested.

Has anyone contacted the Interstate Commerce Commision about these people$ I plan to.

Last report, I wrote about my experience (ATTEMPTED ripoff) by these people. Since then, a couple if interesting things have happened.

I paid the fees by  credit card, which I would encourage everyone to do: never, ever give or send a check to these people, or anyone else you run across on the internet. I called the credit card people and gave them a run-down on my experience, and for good measure, sent a letter.

Both fees were successfully challenged, and I received credits on my card. In this process, they told me that their main office would be informed, and that the credit card company would not accept charges from these people again.

The next thing I did was to write a letter to the Missouri State Attorney General's office and they investigated. They sent me a copy of the return letter from the company. What a load of Bull s***... "Why, we didn't do anything wrong, we would gladly have returned Dr.******'s fees if he had only asked, but he contacted Ripoff Report," etc etc etc. (On angry phone call I had gotten immediately after I did so, from an extremely rude and angry man, asked "Why did you contact Ripoff Report right away?"

Incredibly, all this didn't stop these leeches from sending me e-mails trying to get me to sign up for a bigger, better E-Bay account.

Yours in victory over predatory practices.
