Clearlight Infrared Sauna likes to tell customers and prospective customers that they are made in "South Korea".  This is a lie.  The fact is their garbage is manufactured in Yantai and Shanghai China.  The owner, Dr. Raleigh Duncan, a self proclaimed Con Artist, demands that his staff lie.  Some are all too anxious to do so to please their con artist boss and reap fantastic financial rewards.  Chris Kiggins is one of the most loyal and one of the most diabolical.  He is in charge of customer service.  Mr. Kiggins refers to problem customers (Customers who's new saunas don't work for example) as "Tweakers".  It can take him months to attend to even the most basic and simple of issues.  Problems with saunas include fire, failed "Never Fail" control panels, failed power supplies, damage "in shipping" (They blame everything on shipping) high EMF and more.

This company would lie about anything and everything in order to sell a sauna.

Setting the Record Straight

AUTHOR: Rob S. - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 11, 2015

I have been a Clearlight Sauna customer for about four years. I have no personal association with the company, nor am I related to or good friends with any of its employees. My experiences with Clearlight Sauna are strictly as a customer.

Over the past four years, I have owned two Clearlight saunas. My Clearlight saunas both worked perfectly. I use the sauna 4-5 times per week, for 30 minutes per session. They have helped me lose body fat, improve my immune system, and recover more quickly from strenuous exercise. They've also improved my complexion. I've never had to invoke the terms of Clearlight's lifetime warranty, because nothing has ever gone wrong with my saunas.

I recently purchased my second sauna from Clearlight, not because I had to, but because I decided that their saunas were so well-made that I wanted to invest in a larger, more luxurious, and powerful unit. So, after owning and regularly using a smaller model for three years, I bought their top-of-the-line Premier IS-C, which is much larger than I need, but everything I could want in a sauna.

I sold my first sauna (to make room for the larger, newer sauna). Clearlight Sauna actually allowed me to transfer the lifetime warranty to the next owners. Obviously, Clearlight has a lot of confidence in the quality of their products. I have spoken with the new owners several times since I sold them my smaller sauna. They use it regularly, love it, and have experienced no problems with it.

When my new sauna arrived, I noticed that it had been damaged in transit. I informed Clearlight Sauna of the problem and they were very concerned. They asked me to send them photographs of the damage. The photos made it pretty clear that the damage was minor and purely cosmetic, detracting from the appearance of the new sauna, but not affecting the function or safety of the sauna. It was also clear that the damage had been caused solely because someone had not properly packed the sauna for shipment, by allowing pieces to make contact with each other that shouldn't ever have been allowed to touch. Clearlight offered me the choice of either them replacing the damaged parts (with them paying for all shipping) or a $480 discount on the price of the sauna. I was, frankly, overwhelmed at their very fair and generous offer, which I accepted. A week later, I received a check from Clearlight.

I'm writing this comment, because my actual experience as a Clearlight Sauna customer is nothing like what I've read in this "report" accusing them of corruption, lying to customers, and making substandard products. Over the past four years as a Clearlight customer I have observed absolutely none of the derogatory things claimed in this "report." In fact, Clearlight had the opportunity to rip me off when I received a damaged product, but they didn't. They treated me very fairly and offered me a much larger settlement than I would have asked for. I would have absolutely no problem recommending a Clearlight Sauna to any of my friends and family, as Clearlight has been extremely honest and professional in all my dealings with them.

I LOVE my Clearlight Sauna

I bought my Clearlight sauna about 6 months ago.  Sonny was the person I talked to there and he was very helpful in helping me understand infrared saunas.  I found the whole purchasing process smooth and easy and now I have this beautiful piece of furniture in my house!  I use it 3 or 4 times per week and I feel fantastic every time I use it.

I'm not sure why this person has so much vitreol, but I found my entire interation with the company great and I HIGHLY recommend them.  There is a famous wellness center near where I live here in Florida that has their saunas I found out after I bought mine.  Both the quality of my sauna and the server were excellent.  I highly recommend them.

Yes, a report to the attorney general or a host of other potential aganecies that deal with fraud and those who commit it.  The idea really is to teach Sauna Works a lesson in honesty, humility and good business-not put them out of business or in jail.

I suggest that while your are busy "priming" your sauna that you survey the device and try to find a sticker that says where the sauna was made.  You will not find one.  You can tear the thing apart and you will find nothing that indicates where the sauna was made.  They will tell you, emphatically, the the sauna is made in "South Korea." That is a lie.  That lie is fraud.

If you bought a cedar one they lied about that too.  They are not cedar.  They are made of Thuja plicata which is not even the same species as cedar and certainly has none of the benefits of old growth cedar.

If you bought their "Essential" line then sauna works, who brag about having designed and manufactured all their saunas did not even make that sauna.  They are made by Healthmate.

As you "prime" away just know that there is no quality control what so ever in the making of your sauna.  Sauna Works will say every sauna is unpacked and run before it is delivered to you, which should eliminate any need to "prime" your sauna.

But what does priming your sauna mean?  It means nothing.  It is more of their bull.  A sauna should be plug and play.  There should be no requirement for anything special other than turning it on.  Most of the customer service issues they receive are for the "Never Fail" controls that seem to have a nasty tendency to fail.  But I witnessed far more serious complaints that required handymen to be called out to refabricate parts and install new ones on brand new saunas.  The inconvenience to the customer can be extraordinary.  If a panel fails and an entire wall is shipped out to you...in time.  When you receive the new panel you must repackage your old panel and wait for the trucking company to pick it up.  The old panel is then refurbished and is used as the next batch of "brand new" spare parts for the next complaint.  That is how sauna works does business.

Raleigh Duncan, a former chiropractor who gets a lot of play out of being a "Doctor" though he hasn't practiced in ages, told the truth once and that is when he told me he was a "Con Artist."  The idea that "toxins" are "vibrated out of your cells" is a whole lot of hooey with no evidenciary support what so ever.  The public are typically not critical thinkers and don't often ask penetrating questions so the bull is advanced as if it were fact.  Raleigh Duncan is selling snake oil that is all.

One thing Sauna Works has not done is to admit they are lying or to simply start telling the truth-now that the cat is out of the bag.  Clearly, that is not important to you but if my hunch is right I'm directing this email to a Sauna Works employee.  Lying for a living can be stressful.  I did not survive the stress.  It was not for me though I could have made a lot of money.  For me compromising my integrity is not worth it.  In business you must often make some tough decisions and compromise here and there but to build a business around fraud is reckless and stupid.

If you really are a cusmtomer maybe you compromise your integrity.  Just wondering?

I'm Just Wondering

AUTHOR: NewCustomer123 - ()

POSTED: Monday, October 20, 2014

I just recently purchased a Clearlight IR Sauna and so far so good.  I noticed it wasn't heating up to the top temp but I also realized that I did not prime the sauna as recommended.  So I'll do that tomorrow.  As far as the consumer's complaint I'm responding to (this really isn't a rebuttal), the tone of the complaint is so extremely shrill and antagonistic, I was wondering if the complaintee has notified their state's Attorney General's office.

If you truly believe that Clearlight is a "fraudulent" operation, then it would make sense to me that one would contact the authorities, especially an attorney generals office.  That's what they do.  If the complaintee has not done that they either do not realize what their rights are, OR, they don't believe their charge is valid.  Also, any business, even some of the best in the world, have problems with their products or services from time to time.  The best they can do is make good somehow.  Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I love my Clearlight Sauna

I bought my Clearlight Sauna about 3 years ago.  It has functioned great the entire time and it has really helped my psoriasis.  Overall, I feel much better using it.  It's a beautiful sauna as well.  I am writing this as something doesn't seem right about the review listed in this report.  It definately seems like someone with a grudge.  If your experiece with the sauna is anything like mine, you will be glad you have a Clearlight Sauna.

Do your research like I did and decide for yourself.

Hate to Rain on Your Parade

That "cedar" sauna, you like so much, is not really cedar.  It's Thuja Plicata and has not one of the anti microbial properties of old growth cedar.  You may have been told it does but the fact is it does not.

Saying something is made out of something it is not is called:  FRAUD.

Saying something is made somewhere other than it is is called: FRAUD.

Saying a sauna is tested before it is shipped to you and not doing that is called:  FRAUD.

A company that commits fraud and makes it practically the foundation of it's business is engaged in more than questionable business practice.  It is actively engaged in crime.  It exposes both itself and it's employees to dramatic and unfortunate liability.

You may be satisfied but the fact is you did not get what you were told you were getting and at Sauna Works that is a joke.  They literally think that is funny and laugh about it.  That is the wrong way to do business and does not bode well for a company's plans at longevity.

My Excellent Clearlight Sauna

AUTHOR: Ryder - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 06, 2013
Good Morning,

I was saddened to see the content and tone of the complaint issued towards Sauna Works.  I have now owned my Premeir IS-2 for over a year and my whole experience with the sauna and my process with the company, it's salespersons, executives, and technical support has been completely excellent.

When I purchased this sauna I was living in the mountains of Colorado at around 8000 feet.  I located the sauna on a south facing deck and ordered a cover so that it would be protected from snow and wind.  Even in the cold of the winter, the sauna was able to achieve high temperatures beyond what was needed.

I have now moved to Iowa and have the sauna standing in a 1400 sq ft apartment with 15 ft ceilings.  It presents as a beautiful piece of cedar furniture that compliments other pieces made of cherry, teak, and oak. What I particularly appreciated was the ease of breaking it down and bringing it with me in a Penski rental truck from Colorado to Iowa.  With a 13 year old kid who was looking for work in my neighborhood, we had the entire sauna broken down and meticulously wrapped in moving blankets and held together with outdoor tarps, within less than two hours.  The sauna made it to Iowa without a scratch and is working 100%.

Being on a healing journey this sauna has been a tremendously valuable support to my health and well being.  And it just plain feels good to use it too!  Being on a juice "feast" for 8 weeks, the process of using the sauna has been very helpful in both facilitating a de-toxification and helping to keep warm given the depth of winter is not always the optimal time to be fasting.

I am somewhat of a thorough shopper and explored a number of companies before choosing the Clearlight Sauna from Sauna Works.  I encourage you to do the same and I'm sure you will find them to be very helpful, upright, and a joy to work with as I have.

My best to you in your journey.
