I was just goin over my yearly free credit report from TransUnion when i noticed that a credit card had been opened in my name and placed on my credit report. I have never had a credit card in my life and most certainly did not apply for or recieve a card from CMG credit that i have ever seen. It says i have a credit limit of $7,500.00 and have no past due payments. this has apparently been on my report since january of 2005 and opened in November 2004.

YOU HAVE TO FILE AN IDENTITY THEFT REPORT WITH THE POLICE -
Get a copy of the report and send it to the CC company and tell them it was due to identity theft and to remove from credit report
Send copy of report to all 2 credit bureaus to have them remove it.
Send all correspondence certified mail - return receipt and KEEP COPIES OF ALL for future use, including the little green cards you get back that prove receipt.
