COAST DENTAL LIES TO PATIENTS ABOUT WORK THAT NEEDS DONE TO THEIR TEETH VERO BEACH, Florida

My 20 year old daughter went to Coast Dental for a routine exam On June 3rd 2010. They said she needed Tooth 19 to be crowned and built up. Build Up for $150.00 and Crown for $665.00 and OSHA Sterlization $3.00 for a total of $818.00.  They also said she needed the following:  Full mouth Debridement $99.00, Antibacterial Irrigation $29.00, Application of Desensitiz $20.00 Identafi 3000Oral Cancer $59.99,Cholorhexidine Gluconate $19.99, Flex Care Dispensing Unit $119.00, Oraqix 1 Cartridge 2x at $12.00 each, OSHA Sterlization $3.00 and Bio Waste Recycling. She was also told that Composite 2 needed filled for $125.00.

ALL OF THESES SERVICES WAS A GRAND TOTAL OF $1319.98. The exam and xray results were alarming to us so we went to two other dentists for opinions.  We did not share the findings of Coast Dental.  Both dentists found that she only needed two fillings. Tooth 19 and surface 2 were filled in June and my daughter is doing excellent. COST OF GRAND TOTAL OF ONLY $250.00

Coast Dental wanted to grind her tooth down and put a crown on it and charge $818.00 when all it needed was a filling! And all the other nonsense they wanted to do and said MUST be done was just that NONSENSE. Innocent trusting patients are going to this dentist everyday and receiving work on their teeth that is not needed. They are mutilating their teeth by grinding them down and charging for services not needed. They are LIEING to their patients! 

We confronted the corporate office and Vero Beach office 5 times and asked them to stop sending us a bill for $145.00 for her exam because it was falsified. They refused to drop charge and will not admit that they lied about needing a crown.

My fiance and I stood in front of Coast Dental in Vero Beach on November 12th 2010 to inform others with paperwork proof.  They called police and police said we would need a permit to stand there even though we were in the right.  They were very nice and told us to report it to whom ever would listen to stop them from taking advantage of patients. DO NOT USE COAST DENTAL FOR YOUR DENTAL NEEDS AND ALWAYS GET ANOTHER OPINION IF EXTENSIVE WORK IS RECCOMENDED BY A DENTIST.
