Codero Hosting boast a 99.9% uptime guarantee. This is used as one of their main features they market. If your website or server is not up 99.9% of the time, you receive a full refund. So they claim.

This would make it seem that their service is incredible reliable and has a impeccable record of uptime. Exactly what you want from a host!

However on signing up you will suffer multiple periods of downtime a month. I myself experienced on average 3-4 periods of downtime each month. Combined these downtimes resulted in hours offline and thousands of dollars of lost sales.

When contacting the support department to claim my refund as per their "Uptime guarantee" policy, I found out that their policy does not offer scheduled maintenance and cannot exceed $600. Neither of these factors were stated on signing up.

Suspiciously, each time I contacted support r/e a refund on downtime, I was told the downtime was due to "scheduled maintenance". Very suspicious, considering I was not notified in advance which you would assume is policy for scheduled maintenance.

The one time I was notified of maintenance, was during a data center migration, in which my server was offline for over 12 hours as the could not reconfigure my IP dresses correctly.

 Poor service and false advertising.
