When me and my husband purcahsed our 2003 Ford Windstar from coggin Toyota at the avenues sales person was chris Pinard a.k.a Hot dogg they had us believing that our van was in great condition. They provided us with a three month warranty courtesy of coggin. Well ten months later and now we are having car problems.

At the begining of this month our battery died and alternater died shortly after we replaced the battery( the same night). Now two weeks later and our transmissin is gone now please keep in mind that the car is only two years old. has a total of 69000 miles. We bought it at 45000 miles which means that we only put in about 24000 miles on it since we've owned it. We contacted Coggin and they informed us that our warrenty has expired and that are willing to help us get into a vehicle as long as we trade in our van along with 1500.00. They have got to be kidding me.

How can you sell a car and less than a year later the consumer cannot drive the vehicle to do major transmissin problems and the salesmen and employees at the dealer ships can actully sleep at night??? I don't even want a new car I would like to keep my van I love my van. All I am asking is they help with the repair because it is obvious that something was wrong with that car before we got it. They misinformed us when we made the purchase.

WHAT ???

AUTHOR: B - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 18, 2008

I Sold Cars for 6 yrs (not at this dealer), and I have heard this song and dance hundreds of times. I'm sorry, but's it's unrealistic people like you who take the fun out of selling cars. You put on 24,000 miles in 10 mos, and when you have some problem with the vehicle you want the dealer that sold you the car to be accountable, absolutely moronic, and completely unrealistic thinking. You had a 3mo and I'm guessing 3,000 mile warranty whichever comes 1st usually, and if you wouldn't have passed on the extended warranty when I'm sure it was offered, you would be fine. Now you are whining and complaining that because you were probably thinking nope they aren't getting any more money out of me for something I don't need, and I'll burn through the miles before I use it any way.

Well I have news for you people, most car problems new and used happen in the 1st year of ownership. Did you get a transmission flush when you were approaching the 60-70,000 mile mark as more than likely stated in your owners manual, I'm going to say probably no. If the Alternator was original, they usually will go out in that 70-100,000 mile mark as well, and if the alternator goes, so will the battery. Why don't you learn a little more about a car, and how to care for it, since you obviously spend a lot of time in it, before you blame the dealer that sold it to you.

Florida used cars

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 28, 2007

Florida used car sale are considered "Sold as is" at the time of purchase. You don't have much if any recourse unless you prove that the vehicle had a problem that was known but not noted on the sticker or contract so that you were aware of the problem at the time of sale. Also they shouldn't have had a problem with you taking it to an independent mechanic.

That you put 24000 miles on a car in 10 MONTHS? If so, where the heck have you been driving?

That's 35000 miles a year!!

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 21, 2005

How can you complain about a van that has been driven 35000 miles per year? Come on, 70000 miles is way past most manufacturers warranties. Why are you even complaining?

There is no rip-off here. You bought a high-mileage car/van. Expect that there will be problems. You should've purchased an extended warranty plan from them!

Just like most Americans...

AUTHOR: Jonathan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 21, 2005

The OP is just like the majority of Americans these days; they want something for nothing and they want to blame someone other than themselves.

Take some personal responsibility for your problems. It is not the car dealer's problem that your car had mechanical problems 7 months after their warranty expired. You need to take constant care of your vehicles, especially a used one. You have no idea how the car was treated before you purchased it.

As the other individual said, get a mechanic check out the car BEFORE you purchase it. Another idea was to buy a good aftermarket extended warranty to cover some of these expenses.

It is NOT the car dealer's fault that your car has broken down, IT IS YOURS, now take some responsibility and get it fixed.

And STOP trying to always blame others for YOUR mistakes, sometimes things just happen.

And your point is?

You stated: "They provided us with a three month warranty courtesy of coggin. Well ten months later and now we are having car problems."

So? Where's the ripoff? The warranty is up. They're under no obligation to do anything.

You should have had the vehicle inspected by an independent mechanic prior to purchase. You really have no idea how the previous owner(s) cared for and maintained the vehicle unless you have a skilled mechanic check it for you.
