On December 20, 2007, I ordered a DVD of the 1981 NCAA Championship basketball game as a gift for a friend from collegegear.com. They were the top-listed site for the product I wanted. When the package arrived, it was a football video of Clemson football. I've sent several inquiries via their automated customer service form and received automated responses back. I asked first for the correct product to be shipped. Then I asked for an RMA number to return the merchandise after I ordered it from Tower Records, which also turned out take my money whilst never fulfilling the order.
The 800 number listed for collegegear.com on the shipping invoice is hooked to a voicemailbox that is full. The 800 number that was listed with my credit card is to the software developer for the site, who claim no responsibility for merchandise and would not hand over any contact information for collegegear.com
I've seen other notices here about rip offs from collegegear.com. I wished I'd never ordered from them. I'm out $31.
