Wow I stumbled on this report by complete acident, but can relate in so many ways. Never in my life have I ever felt so ripped off in my life.

It was a few weeks before i graduated high school when I seen an infomercial on t.v. about this so called state of the art design school. Now where I live theres not much opprotunity for art schools, so instantly I was hooked. Jotted the number down and called to request more information. Within a day or so i was contacted by the school.

This is where it gets good, the representative from the school starts to talk and he is good, he promises me the world. Spells out the whole plan the school can help me get a job while i go to work, they help you get housing, they provide transportation to school, you name the question he had the answer. Even sent me a paper telling me a few things I would need when i got here for housing. Then the question of finacial aid came up. Now as a teen I knew there was no way i could talk my parents to pay for this. I wasnt stupid I came from a low income family. I was told how to get around my parents paying for it, how to apply for the loans i needed.

OK so papers are signed. I get aceptance letter from the school, and in a few short weeks I will jump on a plane and start this new stage of education. I arrive at the airport and the rep is waiting there for me. takes me to a appartment complex where i have to come up with deposit and first months rent for a two bedroom appartment along with 3 other new students whom will shortly arrive. This is so NOT funny i gave them 1000 dollars as well as the other 3 students so do the math 4000 dollars to rent a two bedroom appartment with 3 complete strangers.

That asside as he left i realized I had asked if i needed transportation he said "no" yet the closest store was over a couple miles away, the school was a good distance from the complex, and very long distance from any job opprotunity for a student fresh outta high school.

So all that aside a week later I start classes. Thats when the fun starts after a few weeks classes change, teachers change, new expenses show up like diffrent books, special markers, pencils, zip drives ext. Nothing was as told by the rep. No transportation to school, most kids had to take a taxi, car pool if you was lucky enough to know someone with a car, or bike the 5 miles to the school witch i had to do. Job assistance consisted of a peg board with adds from local businesses looking to hire.

Within a year I got time off went home for christmas. I came back to 2 roomates dropping out witch left the appartment rent short, then i was told it was my resposibility to find new roommates. Not to mention one of them took all my belongings including wash cloths, blankets, and socks.

I had so many miss leading talks with my rep, yet the school still got there money. And to this day i am still paying for loans that I had to take out. I just wanted the opprotunity to warn all young folks to beware of this school, they only want your money and care nothing about your education... If I could get my money back it would be awesome, yet this experiance taught me so much about the way some places can hussle you with quick talk, and once you sign those finacial papers your stuck no matter what you take away from the program.
