Colombian Emeralds International;Franchise Services, Viram,Dutyfree.com ripoff;dishonest jewelers;ripped us off for our diamond engagement ring; sold cracked stone, switched return to smaller cracked stone Ft. Lauderdale Florida

We are currently in the Maryland Court (Upper Marlboro) attempting to address this issue of Colombian Emeralds International switching diamonds on us, sending us a cracked diamond, and then switching the cracked diamond for a smaller, also cracked diamond. This is fraud.

However, Colombian Emeralds is only interested in protecting their company name and is now pointing fingers saying that the company that we purchased the diamond engagement ring from in St. Thomas was not their store.

As a result of our issue, several years ago, Colombian Emeralds International severed their ties with their St. Thomas store and removed them from their Dutyfree.com website.

As a customer, we entered the store Colombian Emeralds International in St. Thomas and there was nothing in the store showing that it was not Colombian Emeralds--it looked like all other Colombian Emeralds International stores and they answered the phone Colombian Emeralds International (I have unfortunately been their customer for 30 years).

Now that we have a problem, Colombian Emeralds International wants us to believe that another company was using their name. If you have been to the Caribbean, you are well aware that there is at least one Colombian Emeralds International in every port and if you have been on a cruise ship, you are also aware that you are referred to them as a reputable jeweler--THEY ARE NOT!

I have also raised this issue with the cruise lines in hopes that they will stop referring innocent customers to Colombian Emeralds International.

I will continue to update as information becomes available. Updating to correct the spelling of their name and to inform you that I have received correspondence back and had a conversation with Carnival Cruise Lines. I have also filed a Consumer Complaint both domestic and international.
