I bought a house where there was an old oil tank. There was some leak over the years and after taking the tank out (the previous owner had switched to gas years earlier), I remodeled the entire house and moved in. I am insured with Commerce Insurance. After a few weeks, as the oil odor wouldn't disappear I decided to contact the Fire Dept to know what to do. The Health Dept got involved and they recommended I contact my insurance company, which I did.

They sent a testing company to take some soil samples, (after a lot of time spent trying to blame it on whomever they could blame) and before they even tested the soil they decided to not cover the claim and CANCEL my policy. I don't know much about insurance and if this is a normal procedure but if anyone has a suggestion please let me know.
