Commercial Health Network contacted me over the phone in early June. They were offering a VISA or MASTERCARD with a $2,000 credit limit for a one time fee of $299.00. This was to include a discount package for health care and prescriptions free for one year, and a free digital camera. I had them repeat the offer to me 3 times. And I of course, added questions.

I set up payment for the package and was told that it would arrive 15-20 days after my payment date. When this did not happen, I called the customer service number and inquired about it. They then told me that it wasn't 15-20 days, it was 15-20 business days. When that still did not happen, I called again. They told me that there was a delay in shipping and it should arrive FED EX within the next few days. Four days later my package arrived through the mail, not FED EX. And it was post marked the day of my final call. But to my surprise the package did not include the VISA credit card that I was expecting.

It included an application form for a STORED VALUE INSTABANC DIRECT ACCESS DEBIT MASTERCARD with a $5,000.00 LOADABLE CARD LIMIT, which, is a secured card not a credit card, and you would pay $59 for one card and $94 for two cards. I called the customer service number immediately and they said that I was wrong and that there was no offer with VISA and that the secured card application with MASTERCARD was what I was supposed to get. I told them that I did not receive what I was offered and I wanted my money back. He told me that it was non-refundable. He then gave me and address to a complaint department.

The next day, my husband called the customer service number again. They of course, told him that it was non-refundable. After my husband would not take that for an answer, they played back a recording for him. This was a recording only of me accepting the terms of payment and them telling me that it was non-refundable. They had not recorded the entire call. So, they did not have the credit card offer in depth and everything that was included recorded. After that, I thought, if it happened to me, I am sure this has happened to other people. So, I did a search for the company online and I found this site. I have sent off an email requesting that my money be refunded. I am now waiting to be contacted.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

Katherine in Ankorage,Alaska,be better informed!I work at a call center here in Canada, but we only call into the U.S.,so I know what's what. For staters,if they don't tell you the call is being recored right away,it's not being recorded until they tell you,and it's probably only recorded for their advantage-not yours,no matter what they say before that tape starts rolling.American law states that if you don't recieve what they promised you,you don't pay for it-but-it comes down to what you can prove they offered, hence the recording.

What this comes down to is this, really listen to what they are saying, before and after the recording starts. Some things that you are called about are legitimate,I know that for a fact, since I work for a company that offers opportunites for people to manage credit problems and it really does work. All it really takes is a clear head and to really be listening,to be kind and polite, and to ask the right questions. If you do that, you can recieve great offers and promotions that will do alot for you. Stay sharp!!!
